Discussion:
1. In art, how do subject and composition differ?
2. How can the rule of thirds help artists organize their compositions?

  1. 1. The would be the idea and the composition would be the way the idea is put together or placed.
    2. The rule of thirds helps because it splits the artwork into pieces so it works as a guideline as to where to place the images

  2. The subject of a piece of art would be what the piece is about. The composition is how the artist goes about arranging the subject.
The rule of thirds gives the artist an idea of how they can arrage their artwork to make it most successful.

  3. composition is the placement or arrangement of visual elements or ingredients in a work of art, as distinct from the subject of a work. This can help the artist visualize how he wants his/her artworks.

  6. Composition, in terms of art, is how the artist arranges things in his/her painting. The purpose is to draw the viewer's attention across the whole canvas, then finally to the main subject.

The Rule of Thirds provides photographers and artists with a foundation (framing up 3x3 into horizontal and vertical lines) not just to make it more visually easier, but also more "interesting"!

  8. The subject is the artist's idea, the one the art piece is about. Composition helps the artist to create a better piece by organizing the piece so it won't seem to squished together on any point of the piece and the details should be evened out.
The rule of thirds can help the artist organize their compositions by dividing the piece with 9 equal squares. The artist can then use these squares to paint around the center and following the lines so the piece looks better.
