Why Man Creates
Why do we create? What is creativity? Please post comments.
In your small group, after coming up with some ideas for your side of the box, brainstorm the following (taken from jpb.com's creative implementation plan) :
1. Grab a sheet of 12" x 18" paper. Explain your idea.
2. What is unique about this idea?
3. How might you push the unique boundaries of this idea?
4. What stumbling blocks do you foresee occuring?
5. On the other side, sketch the idea, planning your color harmony.

I believe that humans create, and have creativity for many reasons. One of the many reasons why is to express our feelings. Some people also create because they have a passion for it. They have a gift to demonstrate what they feel, and decorate. Humans have creativity to be unique. It would be very boring if everyone was the same. We as humans also have the ability to think and be able to have our own expressions :)

I believe humans create because they want to be better than the others. I think it's because humans want to be the best at everything. It's in our nature to want to stand out, and to be better than others. Whether it's by creativity, or by physical abilities and traits, or to being mentally superior to the others. We all want to stand out someway, and we have to create how we stand out. Thats what I believe why humans create.
ReplyDeleteI think that humans create because they want better things for their life's or they just want to make something but they want to make it better then the other person did. Or some people might just like to do it for fun. Everybody does it like when they are bord listening to the teacher talk they draw on the said of their paper. Creativity is something you do with passion. It doesn't always have to do with art. It could be anything like math, science, sport's etc. People use creativity to express themselve's in anyway possible. That's what i think people or human create.

Creativity is being able to express your self on paper with color and lines. It is showing who you are inside on the paper. Creativity is the power to communicate
ReplyDeleteI think people create because it is much easier to express yourself in words and art than speech, it also leaves room for interpertation, leaving to veiwer to make their own reasoning of it.
ReplyDeleteCreativity is in our very soul. It is etched deep into our minds. Though we may think of ourselves as opposite of an aritst or an invetor, the very idea is still in our brain, deep in slumber, only waiting to be awaken. I believe man creates to express himself. We have this instinct of wanting more. We want the best of everything. We want more clothes, more technology, more, more, more. Man creates to prove themselves if, not among, THE very best. We keep proving ourselves because we want other people to acknowledge us. Pride is very important to us.
ReplyDeleteI believe Humans create because we can. We know that we have the potential to do something unique and so we do. However, I don't think we do it solely because we can, but because we need to. Creating is like dreaming, whether or not you think you are an artist, it is natural to express yourself in any way possible, however abstract or "normal" creating will always show signs of personalization. I think creating is a huge part of adapting; something Humans do without thinking of it. Creativity is striving to be better, or to better yourself. It is a way to show that you are yourself and no one else will be you.
ReplyDeleteA great start to the posts. The idea that creativity is something we are born to do (and passionate about) is one that is integral to the arts. What about some reasons that may not jump out right away? For instance, do you think people create for reasons of power/politics/religion?
ReplyDeleteI think that man creates to bring something into this world. Wether it be good or bad it is a way to bring something into being.

ReplyDeleteWell, before we discuss why man create, we must know what it is to create;to create is to have the ability to have inspirations and aspirations and to go beyond that and to make something out of it. Meaning, we create because we the ability to. We have the capacity to have all these ideas and rules and relationships and create it into something different and wonderful, something that no other creature has been able to do up to this point. Of course many can argue it is to express ourselves or to change the world, however it all really comes to the solemn reason that ties everything together; it is because we can and we do.
ReplyDeleteIf narrowed down to one thing i think man creates for the betterment of quality in life usually for themselves, or to earn money by selling their creation.
ReplyDeleteI think that man creates because we want to feel like we have the ability to express what we mean without the consequenses. If you draw, paint, or do any other form of art, you can freely express your oppinions. Also, I know I create because I feel like what I put on paper is a deeper part inside of me that can only be expressed on paper. You can let your emotions flow through your hand to the paintbrush and onto the paper with no thoughts or expectations. This is the reason I create.
ReplyDeletePeople create to make life easier. If you look back on the past, everyone was hard workers. We picked our own cotton, we sewed our own clothes, we cooked our own food, etc... These days, it's like we are just too lazy to do anything, so we go out and buy the things we need. Because of this, people create new inventions to make better and easier our lives- washing machine, cars, cellphones, ipads, hair dryers, etc...
ReplyDeleteI believe that humans create for multiple reasons. One is to show emotion and feelings towards different things in life. Creating is kinda like magic. When someone creates something its like bringing something new into the world. We create to show the world something new and exciting or maybe something that we with we didn't create in the first place. This is why I believe humans create.
ReplyDeleteI think humans create because they want to share their ideas and show them off. I think creativity really defines a person because behind creativity is a story. And that story is a persons feeings and emotions. We create to be different and be our own individuals. Creativity tells people a lot about yourselves.
ReplyDeleteI think that humans create to explore and engineer their abilities. Without we are a dark gloomy world with no such idea as to what we can accomplish. It is a way to connect and feel emotions such as anger, sadness, frustration. The way we can have an outlook on these things is amazing and we enforce that by the fine arts, and by what we think as to the world as it turns slowly and we drift away in a dream...
ReplyDeleteI think we create because we want to show what we feel about something. To show and share what we think, feel and love with others and with the ones you truly love. To create can also be a way to do new things, show what you really think of the world or what you want the world to look like. When humans create anything can become possible.

why do men create? Well, I think men create because they are curious and want to see what will happen if you do somethingn to one thing or put things together or anything like that. Also, because they migh want to make somehing better than it already is. sometimes men create with out knowing when they started and find out at the end.

I can definitely say that from my point of view, man creates for money and power as well as the other reasons that we have said. People have researched the human mind and body just so they can create ad campaigns that will influence us further. Man has created toxins that we ingest every day to make more money for themselves. Examples are cigarettes and the chemicals in our foods. Though I don't know if I can call that creativity, it is creation, for better or for worse.
ReplyDeleteAlso, man creates to comfort himself and to explain the unknown. Religion is an explanation of the unknown in a way. I don't mean to offend anybody and I apologize if I do, but religion is a way to explain something very vast: our own creation. Superstition is a way to explain things that we are afraid of, or things that are very coincidental as well.
ReplyDeleteI belive that creative ity in life and man was created to simple lis the soul of people. if the was no art life would be a drag. no music cartoons no tv poetry life would be nothing even the great warriors belived in art ( martial arts)

I think we as humans create to one express our selves and to explore new things. You cant really do much with out exploring and that involves creativity.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do think that people create for power. Like I said, pride is very important to us. Sometimes we do it involuntarily, other times we do it with purpose. The better things we come up with, the more power and popularity you can have.
