Look for an inspirational art quote. What is it, and why did you pick it?

  1. "With the most primitive means the artist creates something which the most ingenious and efficient technology will never be able to create."Kasimir Malevich

    This quote stuck out to me because it is almost pure truth. artists create something with emotion, feeling and unexplainable things which technology cannot. Technology does not have emotion or does not make the amazing mistakes that turn into art.

  2. Wow! Shannon, your insights are excellent, especially about technology and mistakes. Is this what makes art a human experience--our ability to err?

  3. "All true artists, weather they know it or not, create from a place of no-mind, from inner stillness." Eckhart Colle

    - I love this quote because I agree with Eckhart and think that our artwork represents us. That we create from a place of stillness inside of ourself expressing great emotion and creativity.

  4. "A sincere artist is not one who makes a faithful attempt to put on to canvas what is in front of him, but one who tries to create something which is, in itself, a living thing."-William Dobell

    The reason I chose this qoute is because I relate to it. I am not the best artist in the world, I know this, I have trouble expressing ideas on paper. But what this quote is saying is that you don't have to create a Mona Lisa to have good art. Good art comes from a sincere artist and to be one you just have to try your hardest, make mistakes, and reach for the stars. And this, this is how you make a truly beautiful, living piece of art. And it is a success even if you're the only one that thinks it.

  5. ::: John Lennon :::
    The music that really turns me on is either running toward God or away from God. Both recognize the pivot, that God is at the center of the jaunt.

    This is very interesting to me because it shows that people, deep down, feel as if there is some type of higher power. They might recognize it as a feeling, or a highly structured religion, but they feel that something is there.

  6. “Art is the most intense mode of individualism that the world has known.”-Oscar Wilde

    i like this quote because it really is true. art can be anything it doesn't have to be a painting. it could be a song, or poem, or anything really that express a persons emotions or thoughts about a subject. you can be whatever you want in your art work and you can be anybody that you want.
